Shadow's speed is examined
In the early 1970s, Shadow the Hedgehog was given Air Shoes during Project Shadow. The shoes were tested in a lab where he would run in circles, his chaos energy manifesting as he skated.
Shadow fights Sonic the Hedgehog
During his escape fifty years later, Shadow used his Air Shoes to reach Tokyo, Japan, and occasionally in his confrontations with Team Sonic afterwards, hurling Sonic upward and slamming him back down with help from his jets.[1]

Shadow runs with his Air Shoes
The Air Shoes are highly advanced white and black shoes with red metal edges around the soles protecting the jets underneath, able to either accelerate his speed further or make him fly. Air can be expelled under the soles, activating the jets.
Shadow skates across the ocean
When running with the Air Shoes equipped, Shadow enters a skating motion in which he is able to effortlessly glide over water.
Trivia[]
- In the video game series, the Air Shoes are specialized shoes designed by Maria Robotnik and created by Gerald Robotnik for Shadow the Hedgehog. They were built to aid his mobility and can increase his speed as well as allow him to hover in mid-air.
