Shadow gets on the Dark Rider
- "Hey! Dangerously weaving through traffic is my thing!"
- ―Sonic the Hedgehog to Shadow the Hedgehog[src]
After swiftly defeating Team Sonic at Shibuya Crossing, Shadow the Hedgehog made his escape by stealing the Dark Rider, a motorcycle belonging to a G.U.N. soldier. Along with the bike, Shadow also grabbed a laser pistol, warning Sonic the Hedgehog not to follow him. Ignoring the warning, Sonic chased after him, making constant jokes that irritated Shadow. In frustration, Shadow attempted to shoot at Sonic while driving, but he eventually lost his gun during the chase.

During the chase, Shadow used his Chaos Energy to teleport repeatedly, trying to attack Sonic until Sonic managed to grab onto the motorcycle. Shadow then teleported both himself and Sonic to the Tokyo Skytree, where he attempted to knock Sonic off by ramming him with the Dark Rider while Sonic countered in his ball form. Facing Sonic directly, Shadow abruptly braked the motorcycle, leaped into the air, and delivered an uppercut, overpowering Sonic in their duel. Shadow left Sonic knocked out and restrained him with Tails' Titanium Handcuffs.[2]
