The Green Hills Sheriff's Department is the law enforcement agency and local police force of Green Hills, Montana.
History[]
Early Years[]
- "Babe, are you sure you're okay with this? I mean, there's been a Wachowski protecting this town for more than 50 years. This is a big change."
- ―Maddie Wachowski to Tom Wachowski[src]
Starting in the 1970s, Tom's father protected the town of Green Hills as sheriff. He continued in this role until passing it down to his son, Tom after passing away.[1]
Tom's Departure[]
In 2023, Tom Wachowski the current sheriff of Green Hills after his father, would receive a letter from the San Francisco Police Department after a boring day at work, stating that they are expecting his background check. He prepared a speech in front of Sergeant Sprinkles.[1]
Green Hills Energy Surge[]

Ivo Robotnik's crew invades the sheriff's department
Following the Green Hills Energy Surge, deputy sheriff Wade Whipple had to answer many calls regarding the event and was also met by Doctor Ivo Robotnik and his crew, talking to Tom Wachowski by the phone after he managed to escape him.[1]
Robbery of the First Bank of Walla Walla[]

Wachowski and Whipple head to Walla Walla
Taking the day off, Tom and Wade went ice fishing before receiving an A.P.B. for any available units in Walla Walla to aid against an armed robbery at the First Bank of Walla Walla. The robbers were arrested by the police of Walla Walla and Tom and Wade.[2]
Sheriff for the Weekend[]

Whipple enters the Mean Bean Coffee Café
- "Why is there a light on your head?"
"'Cause I'm the sheriff for the weekend, pal." - ―Stone and Wade Whipple[src]
While Wachowski attended his sister-in-law's wedding in Hawaii, Whipple was promoted as a temporary sheriff for the weekend. He discovered agent Stone using the Mean Bean Coffee Café as a base where he works for Robotnik, now known as Doctor Eggman, and attempted to arrest him, ultimately being caught by Eggman himself.[3]
Protecting the Master Emerald[]

Wade refuses to give the Master Emerald to Sonic
- "Oh, hey, Sonic. See my goal? Pretty sick, right?"
"I'm here for the emerald."
"Look, Sonic, I'm sorry. I promised to guard this emerald with my life. I will do whatever it takes... Well, I tried." - ―Wade Whipple and Sonic the Hedgehog[src]
While Wachowski was recovering in the hospital from his battle against Shadow the Hedgehog. Whipple, under Knuckles orders, was protecting the Master Emerald on top of the roof of the Green Hills Sheriff's Department building. Suddenly, Sonic the Hedgehog appeared through a portal ring. Whipple asked if Sonic saw his score as he was practicing hockey with the Master Emerald.
However, Sonic ignored him and demanded Whipple give him the Master Emerald. Wade refused, telling Sonic that Knuckles entrusted it to him. However, Sonic merely speed blitzed Whipple and took it from him. Whipple admitted that he tried, as Sonic used the Chaos Emeralds to transform into Super Sonic and fly off into space to battle Shadow.[4]

Trivia[]
- In one scene in the first movie when Dr. Robotnik and his team are talking to Tom over the phone, a woman can be seen working at a desk near Wade. Who this woman is and if she is an employee of the Green Hills Sheriff's Department is unknown, as she was never addressed and never appears again after this scene.
- There is a goof with the Green Hills Sheriff's Department, as it acts more as a municipal police agency, rather than a county-wide agency. As there is no mention of a Green Hills County that Tom and Wade also protect.
- In another deleted scene from the first movie, where Wade talks to Rachel, after she got her car destroyed (thinking that Tom did it), he opens with "Hello, Green Hills Police Department". This is in contrast to the agency's actual name; Green Hills Sheriff's Department.
