Knuckles[n 1] is a web television series based on the character of the same name. The series is a spin-off of and a sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and is the first television series and the third installment in the Sonic the Hedgehog Cinematic Universe. The series is produced by Paramount Pictures and was released on Paramount+.
The first season premiered on April 26, 2024, and leads into Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
Synopsis[]

The new live-action series will follow Knuckles (Idris Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior. The series takes place between the films SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 and SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3.

On February 15, 2022, the official Paramount+ Twitter account announced that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles were in development, two upcoming cinematic universe entries that were also revealed at the Investors Connect day. It was also revealed that Idris Elba would reprise the role of Knuckles in the 2023 Paramount+ exclusive series.[1][2]
On April 17, 2023, it was reported by Variety that the series has entered production. Adam Pally and Tika Sumpter would reprise their roles. The creative team of the previous films would serve as the series' executive producers, including Elba and Jeff Fowler. New cast members included Edi Patterson, Julian Barratt, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor and Rory McCann.[3]
On June 14, 2023, it was reported by Variety that Cary Elwes, Stockard Channing, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Rob Huebel have joined the cast.[4]
On November 16, 2023, it was reported by Deadline that the series had been delayed to early 2024 from the original Winter 2023 release.[5]
On February 8, 2024, the first official trailer was released by Paramount+.[6] It was then reported by Deadline that all six episodes of the series will drop on April 26, 2024 in the US and Canada, with it being released the following day in all additional Paramount+ territories.[7]
On February 11, 2024, it was revealed that Tom Howe would compose the score for all six episodes.[8]
