The Nanosuits are a pair of suits created by Gerald Robotnik that have the ability to utilize nanobots that he and Doctor Eggman used to fight in the Space Colony ARK.

After boarding the Space Colony ARK, Gerald Robotnik revealed the Nanosuits to his grandson, Doctor Eggman, a surprise that delighted Eggman so much he kissed Gerald’s feet in joy. The two inventors donned their suits, inserted the keycard to activate the station, and launched into space along with Shadow the Hedgehog. While Shadow powered the Eclipse Cannon with his Chaos Energy, Eggman discovered that Robotnik intended to annihilate Earth rather than merely destroy it. Robotnik then cruelly crushed Eggman's feelings, sadistically comparing him to his late granddaughter, Maria Robotnik.[1]

Battle for Earth[]

"Oh, a nano-fist. I haven't seen that since I hate-watched Green Lantern in 2011."
"I was saving it for Comic-Con. But now, there won't be a Comic-Con!"

While Super Sonic and Super Shadow battled around Earth, Eggman decided to betray Robotnik to stop the Eclipse Cannon from firing its laser. However, Robotnik had prepared a nano-rocket backpack to chase Eggman and prevent him from reaching the command center. Robotnik used a nano-fist to slap Eggman and shoved him, following up by spanking him as a reprimand. In response, Eggman deployed a nano-drill to injure Robotnik’s foot, allowing him to break free.

Eggmen battle

Eggman and Robotnik fightning

As Eggman neared the controls, Robotnik stopped him by deploying a scorpion exoskeleton around his suit. Eggman tried activating the defenses, but his nano-glove accidentally created a barrier. Before Robotnik could attack, Eggman activated a mantis exoskeleton to fight back, managing to slice off part of Robotnik's mustache before ending up dangling from a walkway on the ARK. With Super Sonic and Super Shadow approaching, Robotnik deployed the Gun Hunters and opened a hatch to presumably kill Eggman. However, Tails and Knuckles the Echidna saved Eggman, catching Robotnik off guard. Eggman then used Super Sonic's quill to electrocute Robotnik, disintegrating him and his nanosuit within the Chaos Energy field.

STH3Final53

Eggman sacrifices himself to contain the ARK explosion

Successfully, Eggman helped Team Sonic redirect the laser from the cannon away from the planet, although he accidentally caused part of the Moon to break off. With the ARK set to explode and trigger a radioactive atmosphere for Earth, Super Shadow convinced Eggman to make a sacrifice to prevent it. Eggman deployed a platform to create a timer that would delay the explosion, but with little time left, he made one final livestream on the screens of London, England, to thank and say goodbye to Stone, the only one who had ever cared for him. He was then consumed by the explosion along with his nanosuit and presumably dying.[1]

The Nanosuits allow Doctor Eggman and Gerald Robotnik to activate the nanobots implemented in their suits to create what they imagine with the support of their gloves, with Gerald creating a jetpack, a giant hand and activating a scorpion exoskeleton, while that Eggman creating a power drill, accidentally created a fence and was able to activate a mantis exoskeleton.

Trivia[]

  • The design of Doctor Eggman's nanosuit is faithful in appearance to the character's suit in the video game series from Sonic Adventure onwards.
