Robotnik's Crew was a military shadow-ops program run by Ivo Robotnik under the U.S. government. They were involved in the search for an alien creature until the Guardian Units of Nations dissolved them after Robotnik's disappearance.

Covert Operations[]
Robotnik's crew was led by the brilliant and arrogant roboticist Ivo Robotnik and formed as an organization of covert agents and scientists affiliated with the United States Armed Forces to run covert operations for the U.S. government with the use of Robotnik's advanced technology, being responsible for a coup in Pakistan, and returning territory to Azerbaijan after a breakaway state called Azerbaijanistan was formed.[1]
Green Hills Energy Surge[]
After Sonic the Hedgehog inadvertently caused a power blackout across the Pacific Northwest, high-ranking members of the U.S. government reluctantly hired Robotnik and his team to investigate the source of the blackout. After the team arrived at Green Hills, Robotnik arrogantly told U.S. Army Major Bennington that his soldiers now reported to him and showed off his Flying Eggs, which he dispatched to aid the U.S. Army in tracking down the source.[1]
Tracking Sonic and Tom[]
After Sonic and Tom Wachowski fled Green Hills, Robotnik and his team traveled to the Green Hills Police Department, and interrogated the officers there. Once Wade Whipple was talking with Tom over the line, Robotnik took the phone and threatened Wachowski, telling the story of how he injured his ex-bully. Tom hung up, however, which Whipple clarified. After ridiculing Wade, Robotnik and his team left the building.
The following morning, the team arrived at Piston Pit to question patrons for any leads on Sonic and Wachowski. During the interrogation, Robotnik and his assistant, Stone, interviewed a thug who was involved in the fight, although he refused to give them any information, prompting Robotnik to throw him out of a glass window before calculating that Sonic and Wachowski had entered California state lines.[1]
Dissolution and Replaced by G.U.N.[]
- "After that, G.U.N. tried to erase all connections with Robotnik, including me. Sent a team to take me out. That didn't work out so well for them. So I went underground, starting selling my creations in the black market. And before you know it, I built an empire."

Following the aftermath of the Chase of San Francisco and Robotnik's banishment,[1] the Guardian Units of Nations,[2] a reinstated global military organization operating since the early 1970s,[3] erased all records of Robotnik's existence,[1][4] seized all of his assets[2] under the guise of the United States government,[5] and dissolved Robotnik's Crew by hunting down his associates.
While many of them were executed in G.U.N. raids, one of Robotnik's associates managed to evade G.U.N. and killed the pursuing G.U.N. agents, albeit suffering injuries as a result. Following the failed attempt on his life, the former associate went underground and formed a criminal organization to sell his inventions on the black market, donning the code name "The Buyer."[4]

- Description: The Buyer was one of the agents under Eggman's command. Although, he was not seen during his hunt of Sonic the Hedgehog. He was later hunted down by GUN after Eggman was banished from Earth. However, he survived and went underground. Forming his own criminal empire and selling Eggman's technology on the black market. The Buyer later appointed ex-G.U.N. agents Mason and Willoughby to capture Knuckles the Echidna to power his latest creation. With the agents' failure, The Buyer finally arrived in Reno to confront Knuckles in his mech, but the Echidna was helped by Wade Whipple, causing The Buyer to be killed by Knuckles when a giant ball fell on him.
