Biography[]
Director of G.U.N.[]
Recruiting Team Sonic[]

Rockwell meets Team Sonic
- "Mr. and Mrs. Wachowski. Aliens."
"Aliens? Excuse me? It's not like we're from different plan- Oh, yeah, we are. I guess we are aliens." - ―Rockwell and Sonic the Hedgehog[src]
In 2024, Shadow the Hedgehog was unexpectedly awakened from Prison Island and made his way to Tokyo, Japan, where he effortlessly eliminated the G.U.N. forces sent after him. Recognizing the danger Shadow posed, Commander Walters ordered Director Rockwell to travel to Green Hills, Montana, to recruit Team Sonic. Rockwell arrived in a G.U.N. helicopter accompanied by her assistant, landing in the forest. There, she encountered Tom and Maddie Wachowski along with the team. Referring to them as "aliens," Rockwell offended Sonic the Hedgehog, who quickly pointed out that her assumption was correct.

Rockwell sees Sonic joking
Rockwell introduced herself, requesting the team's immediate assistance for the situation in Tokyo, a mission that they quickly accepted. They departed in the helicopter, opening a ring portal to reach Tokyo faster. During the trip, the team followed the trail of a massive explosion to locate the threat. Rockwell, in frustration, listened to Sonic's joke about the low-budget flight without food or movies before deploying with his friends to Shibuya Crossing.[1]
Attack on Walters[]

Rockwell blames Team Sonic for the attack
- "His launch key is missing. I knew they couldn't be trusted."
- ―Rockwell[src]
Later, Team Sonic and Walters gathered at the Chao Garden to inquire about Shadow, just before they were attacked. After the attack, Rockwell and her platoon made their way to the restaurant, where they found Walters, severely wounded. As she searched Walters' pocket for the Eclipse Cannon keycard, Rockwell instead found a photo of Team Sonic, which led her to believe they were responsible for the attack and had taken the keycard, further increasing her mistrust of them.[1]
Infiltration into G.U.N. Headquarters[]

Rockwell sees "Handel" acting strange
- "Rockwell, listen to me. The Robotniks are planning..."
"They're planning on stealing the second key just like you are? Yes, I'm aware. I called it the second Commander Walters was attacked. So, thank you for taking the bait and falling right into my trap." - ―Sonic the Hedgehog and Rockwell[src]
To protect the second and last Eclipse Cannon keycard, Rockwell configured the vault at G.U.N. Headquarters with variable gravity, which could be adjusted via a tablet. Later, Rockwell walked through the hallways of the headquarters, conversing with her assistant about the situation in Colorado, making it clear that no one should know about it. She then encountered Agent "Randall Handel," who greeted her with a military salute, leaving her confused.

Rockwell tricks Sonic and Team Robotnik
When Sonic, Doctor Eggman, and Gerald Robotnik arrived at the vault, Rockwell confronted them, explaining the variable gravity system and seizing the keycard. She disregarded Sonic's warnings, firmly believing that Team Sonic and Team Robotnik were both after the keycard. Rockwell revealed that her platoon had captured Tom, Maddie, and Tails, and she intended to arrest everyone for the infiltration. However, Knuckles the Echidna stormed into the headquarters, knocked Rockwell down, and snatched her tablet to disable the gravity system, though he accidentally malfunctioned it while trying to adjust the settings.

With the keycard lying on the ground and Rockwell stuck to the floor, she crawled to reach it, competing against Eggman. After Sonic successfully deactivated the variable gravity, Rockwell managed to grab the keycard before Eggman. She then ordered her subordinates to handle the situation. While trying to keep the keycard safe, Rockwell encountered "Walters," who had managed to survive. He ordered her to hand over the keycard to keep it safe with him, a command she followed, unaware that it was actually Tom disguised as Walters.[1]
Personality[]
- "Enough! It's over! The only way you're leaving here is in handcuffs. There's no other way out."
- ―Rockwell to Team Sonic and Team Robotnik[src]
Director Rockwell is a strict and tough military official who takes great importance in the operations of the G.U.N.. She is notably willing to do anything to preserve the protection of Earth such as placing the vault containing the last Eclipse Cannon keycard to prevent anyone from stealing it for nefarious plans.
Rockwell displays xenophobic traits, harboring a deep distrust of alien beings like Team Sonic, often giving them a cold look and showing little respect, referring to them simply as "Aliens." Her mistrust grew after the attack on Commader Walters, as she assumed that the team was behind the attack to obtain Walters' keycard. She appears dismissive of Sonic's attempts to warn her, ignoring his claims that it was actually Team Robotnik seeking the keycard.
