Sonic Drone Home is an animated short film released as part of Sonic the Hedgehog 2's digital release.
Synopsis[]
Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails encounter an abandoned Badnik drone which upgraded itself using parts from a junkyard, with the intention of conquering the world.[1]
Plot[]

Team Sonic cower from Unit
In the aftermath of the Battle Against the Giant Eggman Robot, Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails and Knuckles the Echidna investigate the Green Hills Junkyard on a sunny day in Green Hills, having heard Wade Whipple's complaints of strange noises from this area. The three see one of Doctor Eggman's Flying Eggs, an upgraded one, however. Designing a plan, Sonic is interrupted by Knuckles' urge for battle. Charging at the robot, he is launched back, now stuck in the Green Hills billboard. Obligated to run from a car Unit threw, Sonic accelerates with Tails in hand around the junkyard. Sonic hits the robot until a part breaks loose, a part that unleashed a cloud of smoke. Tails, optimised, uses a gun that shoots a bolas, but is thwarted by Unit, entangling Sonic's legs. About to be crushed at the robot's hand, Sonic is saved by Tails' flight, but is eventually caught and smashed upon the ground. Sonic talks to the robot, asking what he likes instead of serving Robotnik. Unit says he likes writing poetry, and so he does.

Team Sonic and Unit set off to get chil dogs
After reciting a few phrases till dawn breaks, Knuckles returns, engaging their fight, Sonic and Tails elaborate that Unit has changed his ways. Although not to fond of him, Knuckles calms himself. Tails, holding a decapitated Unit, requests a suspicious Sonic if he can keep Unit. Sonic agrees, but explains that it is his responsibility. As done before the battle, Sonic narrates that another adventure continues as he and the others go collect chili dogs.
