Sonic the Hedgehog Cinematic Universe Wiki, also known as Sonic Cinematic Universe Wiki, is an online English language encyclopedic wiki created on the FANDOM wiki hosting service on February 25, 2020.[1]
The website focuses on Paramount Pictures' Sonic the Hedgehog Cinematic Universe film series, the official title given to the film series based on the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. While not a primary source from Sega nor Paramount, the site tries to helm and provide information about every installment across all media (films, television series, comics, ...), starting with Sonic the Hedgehog.
History
Sonic the Hedgehog Cinematic Universe Wiki was created by @Rman41 on February 25, 2020, eleven days after the release of Sonic the Hedgehog.[1] He created the wiki mostly because he thought the broader Sonic Wiki Zone (Sonic News Network at the time) would be unable to translate the separate "cinematic universe" concept very well into their wiki, hence making one in similar fashion to other cinematic universe wikis such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki and the DC Extended Universe Wiki.[2] Since this was his first wiki, he heavily based it off of the MCU Wiki's stylization, which was something he really favored, and carried-over certain rules from there.[3]
On November 30, 2022, @Kobott, a frequent editor of the website, was given bureaucrat rights for the wiki as Rman41 stepped down to manage other wikis.[4] @Kobott would introduce official policies in October 2023.[5]
In the wake of the start of Knuckles' and Sonic the Hedgehog 3's promotion, @Kobott created a Twitter account in February 2024 that would cover it, working in the same way as other FANDOM wiki social media accounts.[6]
