- "You did it, Wade Whipple! You won!"
"Buddy, we did it." - ―Knuckles the Echidna and Wade Whipple
What Happens In Reno, Stays In Reno is the sixth and final episode of the first season of Knuckles.
Synopsis[]
The friendship between Knuckles and Wade is tested - as enemies, new and old, converge in Reno.
Plot[]

Knuckles attacks Willoughby and Mason
After Wade Whipple lured Knuckles the Echidna to the elevator leading to Pistol Pete Whipple's penthouse, where agents Willoughby and Mason, who listened in on their conversation, prepared to attack Knuckles as soon as the elevator doors would open, Willoughby repeatedly shot at the opened elevator. They approach the elevator and are met by a torn up mascot costume before looking up to see Knuckles hanging on the ceiling, knocking them away as he drops down. It is revealed that Knuckles had also listened in on the conversation of Wade and the agents, starting a fight with said agents while Wade enters the penthouse to crawl to the master suite, rescuing his mother Wendy with Tom Wachowski's master key. Wanda refuses to get saved, deciding to do so herself by dislocating her thumb. Wade checks in on Knuckles, distracting him while the agents seem to be giving in. Willoughby does shoot two rings at Knuckles however, though Knuckles deflects them, having them open while facing each other. The agents get sucked in as the rings collide and collapse.

Wade about to score his first strike
Encouraged to quickly enter the Bowling Tournament of Champions' finals by Knuckles, Wade arrives late to confront an arrogant Pistol Pete, who was quick to claim his victory when Wade didn't show. Even though he is pressured multiple times into surrendering, Wade refuses to back down, ensuing a plethora of strikes handed by both players. While Knuckles watches the game, eating challah bread, he hears troubled screams circling the National Bowling Stadium, sprinting outside to be caught and thwarted by The Buyer's mech. By the final frame, Pistol Pete faces a spare, leaving Wade to throw a strike for a potential win. Pistol Pete questioning Wade if he is strong enough to beat his own father, Wade confirms it, taking all he has learned from the warriors within his family and friends. Despite being called a loser, Wade throws a nipt strike, rejoicing as he has won the tournament. Knuckles is thrown into the bowling alley and is pulled back by The Buyer, prompting Wade to run outside the hole in the wall to help his friend.
Outside the stadium, Knuckles is drained of his power. Ignoring The Buyer's power surge, Wade challenges him to come and get him, realizing he was bluffing when he approaches. He is assisted by his mother and sister, who give him Mason's gauntlets and an array of bowling balls to throw, trying to encourage Knuckles, telling him of the feats they've both accomplished during their quest and what he has fought for; a family, his friends and a home. Knuckles arises, taking down The Buyer and his mech with the Flames of Disaster. The bowling commentators, having taken cover, discuss a similar occurrence with an extraterrestrial back during the bowling tournament of 1974. They also see what happens on the lanes: Pistol Pete stealing the trophy while having lost. While Wanda and Wendy beat him up for it, Wade, with the trophy in hand, jumps up with Knuckles for a high five.

Returning to Green Hills, Montana, Wade suggests playing his new mix, "Knuckles and Wade Warrior Jammerz", as road trip music. Putting on the song "The Warrior" by Scandal, Knuckles declares it to be his jam.

Trivia[]
- With the Flames of Disaster, Knuckles takes charge spinning around like a drill as trails of energy and fire circle around him. Knuckles performs similar moves throughout the video game series, notably in Sonic Frontiers with the Drill Spin Attack and/or Boost. He also slams both fists on The Buyer's mech, much like his Meteor Punch attack in Sonic Battle.
- Regarding Knuckles' appearance at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nevada, Dylan Beagleton mentions that a differently colored extraterrestrial appeared there back in 1974. The aforementioned alien was presumed to be Shadow the Hedgehog.
